week in review

This week as been full of emotions for me it has been
Happy, Tired,Angered,Stressed, Fearsome,Worried,
Caring and Saddened.

Monday my anger started with a telephone in our home
that we thought had an issue that was also messing up our
home computer, we found out the issue was not our phone
it was located in what is known as CO ( central office) this is
my hubby's lingo as he works for AT&T (however him being
an employee did not help it still took him being angered and
a week to get the situation fixed!

On Tuesday the emotions of fear really seeped inside me
as I learned a resource teacher that works closely with me and
my co-workers had contracted the MRSA Staff infections that
it developed into a pneumonia which can spread airborne. I have always
been a preventive person ( I admit I do have a thing about germs)
but I do not consider myself to be a germ a phobic person. however I have
been extremely cautious and probably over zealous in cleaning my home and
at work my anger came out because upper management was and is keeping
this Hush Hush!
my co-workers and I are not even supposed to know about this!

Wednesday things are getting a little better but I had trouble sleeping
because of the situation at work.

Thursday my daughter had a routine dentist appointment to get her teeth
cleaned however ended up having two baby teeth extracted and she was in pain
and the trooper that she is went to school in pain ( this was her first full week
and all seems to be going ok since she made her decision to return) I gave her
lots of ice cream and a shake she had to eat with a spoon what is a caring mommy for!

Friday remember the old saying TGIF!!! I love Fridays because it is my early
day I am off at 1 today was looking good because it is the start of a three day
weekend for me but then I got this call this morning from a friend regarding
another friend of ours from our breakfast club our dear friend lost both of her
elderly parents and their two dogs due to a fire in the house this past Wed
evening there is a criminal investigation going on till the autopsy is completed
I know first hand how it feels when you lose a loved one especially your parents
but to lose both of them at the same time and the way they passed well my
heart is heartbroken for my friend I did not know what to say except she and
her family are in my prayers . our little breakfast club is ready to do what ever
needs to be done when she is ready for us to do so.

I am planning on making this three day weekend kind of an escape from all the
emotions so to speak
I am either going to go see a funny movie or rent one or do something fun and
light hearted.

Don't Blink

(just a song I have on my I pod)

I turned on the evening news
Saw a old man being interviewed
Turning a hundred and two today
Asked him what's the secret to life
He looked up from his old pipe
Laughed and said "All I can say is."

Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you're taking naps and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your better half
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink

I was glued to my tv and it looked like he looked at me and said
"Best start putting first things first."
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth

I've been try'n slow it down
I've been try'n take it in
In this here today gone tomorrow world we're livi'n in

Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster you think
Don't blink

Naw, don't blink
Life goes faster than you think

Amelia Earhart

"The most difficult thing is the
decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity
The fears are paper tigers
you can do anything you decide to do
you can act to change and control life
and the procedure, the process is it's own
reward"

Excused

I served my jury duty and
the lord answered my prayers
I was with a lucky bunch and
after waiting all day long
we were excused!!!

did not even get called into the court room
I did learn a lot from two women who sat next to me
there were about 100 of us and we were told to be there
before 10:00 am. no one looked like they really wanted to
be there.
upon entering many of us brought bottled water because
it said beverages in plastic bottles were allowed what it failed
to say is that the seal must not be broken on the plastic beverage
bottle! so just like the airlines they dump open bottles into the trash!
scan your handbags and cell phones must be off.

where you check into the waiting room they scan your
summons and you sit and wait. we waited for an hour and half
and then were told we had to return at 1:30. we all learned lesson
brought back a unopened bottle of water!!!

we all returned and waited another hour then 50 names were
called they left then we got the good news we were EXCUSED!!
and had to form a line to get a paper for work.
what I learned watching and talking to these two ladies
was everyone that was there did not want to be there!
had to miss a day of work, some of them were just down right
mad about doing their civic duty!
and one lady next to me kept pointing this out.
it is our civic duty yet if you don't show they fine you up to $1,500.00
and arrest you. it is your civic duty yet they confiscate your bottled beverage
and so on!
I hope that once in the court room the judge finally excused her.
the other interesting thing I learned is that they use your driver's license
to summon you for jury duty because selecting the old way through your voting
well people stopped voting for that reason.

regardless of it all it was an interesting day of observation
and I am thankful for all that kept me in their thoughts and prayers

living

Living requires us to step off the edge of the world each day
daring to greet the sun , life is a leap of faith!

I love to collect many things but one of my favorites is
to write down sayings, quotes, etc. I have many books
with such things that I add to daily and sometimes read
over and over.

I feel eternally grateful to step off the edge and greet the sun
and take that beautiful leap of faith that the Lord gives us
everyday no matter what it may bring. For if I don't then I
know I would not be living!!!

Jury Duty

I have been called for Jury Duty
I have been called once in my life but
got excused and that was many years ago!
I have never done this before!

they finally caught up with me I suppose
I am not sure how I feel about it I have mixed
emotions. I am nervous about it for what if it
is a case where a child or woman got hurt ( yes I know that
can happen to a man) but I am an emotional person I tear up
at the drop of a hat !( sad movies, T.V. songs ) I will do my best
I guess, there is also the chance that they won't even need me and
I will be excused! ( I am saying my prayers)

well just keep me in your thoughts!

on the road again

well since my holiday break is
officially over today ( the two weeks went
by slow & fast at the same time) I am preparing
to get back on the road I commute to my job
which is about 40 mi from my home
it's not a bad commute. my gal used to go with me
I would drop her off at school then pick her up
so I had someone with me well tomorrow that is going to
change for both of us she will be starting her new thing
at the public school ( she is scared ) and I will be commuting
by my lonesome ( ok I will be listening to the radio)
so I won't be quite a lone. I would not do this If I did not
love my job so much!

I did enjoy my break but there are things that I also
wanted to do that I ran out of time to do them. well I
get a week off in march so maybe then.

until then it's off to work I go
everyone have a safe return to work and where ever
you have to drive to.
