Beautiful Flowers

On our anniversary this past week
my hubby bought me this beautiful
Hawaiian bouquet. there is kind of a little story about why I wanted Hawaiian flowers.

we were stationed in Hawaii when we were first married and my youngest sister in law was getting married we could not attend the wedding so we had sent her a Hawaiian wedding bouquet, any way I had told him
that on our 25th anniversary I
wanted a Hawaiian bouquet, I reminded him every anniversary and
well he tried to fool me the bottom photo he sent to me is silk flowers saying "our love is forever" I said thank you and it meant a great deal
you see my husband is really not one
for giving flowers. so I had told my co-worker well I guess he forgot about the Hawaiian bouquet. feeling a little sad, the next thing I see is him bringing me this big Hawaiian Bouquet! saying to me " you thought I forgot" I said well kind of, he said he just wanted it to be a surprise indeed it was!
I am so enjoying looking at these flowers everyday! and I am so blessed that he remembered!!!

Silver Bliss

wow it is here! 25 years ago today
I married my soul mate. it has been a
whirl wind of a roller coaster ride one
I would take again in a instant! it has been and still is silver bliss to me.

we have been through a great deal
of life in the last 25 years some
happy, some sad, some trials and tribulations and well isn't that what
marriage is all about.

it has always been the heart of the matter.

we have surpassed what nay sayers told us many years ago, well to be honest we surpassed it by 20 years! and we are looking forward to the next 25 plus years

when we got married it was just the two of us with out the wedding hoopla. I have always wished that our families would have been there, but I guess things turned out the way they were meant to. when we married my husband was in the U.S. Coast Guard and we were stationed in many great places and even though at times I felt like we were gypsies always moving I always told my husband that home was where ever he was as long as we were together I have kept that feeling still today.

last year we started taking our little road trips to make sure we spent quality time together
we still plan on doing that some this year but our family is going through some things and preparing for our son's graduation celebration we decided to postpone our 25th anniversary celebration getaway to a later date.

we are however going to go out and have a nice dinner!!

The Prom

This past Saturday my son and his
friend ( no they are just friends) attended his senior prom some how they manage to match the greens to a tee!

the prom was a mystery location prom where they did not know where it would be until they arrived they were taken by a bus to the location
the location happened to be in a town about 20 miles from our home town

the kids made the rounds to each parents house for the photo opps
and then off they went

They came back to our house grabbed a dozen donuts and off they went

my son got home about 3:00 am
and then later that day the gang
was here hanging out

and all in all they said they had
a great time. looking at these photos
the days are running short to graduation. as you know my son is off to Santa Cruz in the fall, his friend john in the photo is off to boot camp for the army the day after graduation and sally in the blue is off to jr college
in another city. and virginia has one more year of high school. I am glad the kids are making the most of their time together.

18

My eldest light of my life celebrated
his 18th birthday this past Thursday. I am feeling melancholy . this was how we celebrated his first birthday.

as I look back at this photo I am reminded of how
very blessed I am to have given birth to him
I had very serious trouble getting pregnant, I battled
through many Hormone shots, medications that
(have put me at very high risk for uterine cancer)
and none of these worked. after trying so long and so hard I gave up, my husband and I went on vacation
and well the miracle happened I came home
and found out I was expecting and
even more special when I found out we were going to have a son!
I am feeling so many emotions hard to explain them all. no matter how old he is, he will always be my baby boy ( I have a special nick name but won't embarrass him by revealing it!) my child is grown up ( even though he has always been mature for his age)
He had a quiet birthday just a few friends over and pizza then when the friends left the four of
us did the cake thing with the number 18 candles, we took photos and then he blew out his candles and made his wish.

Friday he brought home is cap and gown and his announcements for his up coming high school
graduation. ( the time is coming sooner than I like it to!)

Saturday we were on a shopping mission to find the perfect suit for his up coming prom which is this coming weekend. we went to several stores before we finally found the perfect one!
then we headed to the craft store to find the perfect shades of silk flowers to make a wrist
corsage for his date.

This morning he informed me that today he was going to be part of the Every 15 minutes
all in his make up of scars etc. showing the kids not to drink and drive.

I am filled with so much emotion that I have not quite found how to express it or put it in
perspective to write it in words , I know when I figure it out I will be able to write about it
until then
I am now the Mom of an Adult!

new song

My new song in my ipod , I hear this song a lot lately on the Radio
and so I downloaded it into my ipod. the lyrics lately just seem to
hit home with me where my teenagers are concerned. just thought
i would share!

She was staring out the window of their SUV
Complaining, saying "I can't wait to turn 18"
She said "I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules"
Mama put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said "I was just like you"

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her "It's a nice place"
She says "It'll do for now"
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says And says "Baby, just slow down"

Cause you're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Five years later there's a plumber workin' on the water heater
Dog's barkin', phone's ringin'
One kid's cryin', one kid's screamin'
And she keeps apologizin'
He says "They don't bother me.
I've got 2 babies of my own.
One's 36, one's 23.
Huh, it's hard to believe, but...

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this"
