something that struck me

" Charm Can mislead
and beauty soon fades
The woman to be admired and praised
is the women who lives in the fear of God"

Proverbs

I was reading something a friend of mine wrote and this quote was on it
and for some reason it stuck in my head so I thought I would share.

taking it line by line- Charm can mislead that is a true statement so many times weather a man or a woman we fall to charm, Beauty does fade on the outside but I always believed that beauty was really on the inside and thinking about this yes, a person's inside beauty can fade quickly when they fall into the wrong path. The woman to be admired
well that is an absolute believing in GOD you can never go wrong his grace proves that each and everyday .
though I may be out of context here after pondering this a bit I feel for my self
that I will try not to let charm mislead me, I will let the inner beauty grow gracefully and the outer beauty will fade with age, but I will always be a woman who will be charmed, letting beauty fade and hope to be praised and admired for my belief in our Lord for he is the light in all that I see.

Sweet 16!!

Today my sweet little girl ( ok she is not a little girl
but my baby she will always be) has turned 16!
sometimes it's hard for me to believe that she
is only 16. she has a maturity about her that I never had at her age and I am thankful for that! she also amazes me with her love for the Lord. she has great
loving friends and she is my chick flick buddy!

and she has dreams that I know she will achieve on her own terms.

today she is celebrating the way she wanted to we are going to make what she wants for dinner one of her favorite dishes is shrimp kabobs and then
of course instead of a birthday cake she had me surprise her so I got 4 really great gourmet Cupcakes and we placed 16 candles on it! ( she did not want us to sing Happy Birthday she says she is to old for it I informed her it is tradition in our little family so we sang it rather fast! and her gift she wanted from us is an airline ticket to visit a friend in Texas next month.

She took a variety of Cheese Cake slices to her girls
small group tonight.

she got her driver's permit and will be taking the behind the wheel class so she can get her license before the summers end( part of me is ready for that the other not so sure!)

the photo down below is her dream car that she says one day her dad and I must buy for her!
I keep telling her none of us had a brand new car at 16! ( I still have never purchased my own car!) but someday she will get this car for whatever she is determined about she usually finds a way to achieve it one way or another.

anyway , here is wishing my little girl
okay, my beautiful 16 year old daughter a very happy sweet 16th birthday.

My Favorite Guy

My Husband had Shoulder surgery
Friday due to shoulder impingement that was caused by some jerk of a co-worker. he has been in a lot of pain from this and even though it was inflicted at work , he was denied workman's comp so he has taken a different route and well needless to say has a lawyer involved.

The Doc said everything went well
they had to shave 4 Cm off of a bone that was pressing down and hopefully that will relieve the pain he has been in. he was told he would be off for at least 12 weeks but hopefully it won't be that long. he will begin physical therapy next week. he has been uncomfortable since Friday but that is to be expected after all he is sleeping with a sling on! and he can't wait to take a shower on his own and not have me
give him sponge baths one more day then he will be able to!

we ( the kids and I ) are taking care of him the best we can, I know this may sound cheesy but from the day I met my husband, I knew he was my life soul mate. This feeling has only gotten
stronger over the last 25 years. I know it will remain the same for the next 25 years!

after all he is my favorite guy!!

The Big G Day

On Friday May 24th 2008 My son
Graduated High School!( the one with the glasses)
it was a wonderful day
the ceremony was held at night and needless to say it was very chilly
but all the families watching their children survived.

I was so thrilled My son lead everyone
in pledging allegiance
and I think he was a bit nervous and
wanted to get the show on the road so to speak that he kind of sped through it but later he told me he was actually keeping up with one of the students
standing near him.

after the ceremony and all got their diplomas we heard the class of 2008 song which was Good Riddance by green day aka "the time of your life"
it really suited this class of young men and women

the photo with Kiel and his friend Mike
we are kind of like the second home to most of his friends.

somewhere in the process of these years I have somehow become their
adopted Mom ( not complaining)
I felt enormous pride hearing all their names called!

Celebrate

Sorry no Photos !

Today we celebrated My Son Kiel's ( pronounced Kyle)
graduation from High School we had a terrific time
but I was busy making sure all the food was warm enough
and ready to go and mingling I was unable to take photos!

I am very blessed to have such a wonderful family
come and celebrate with us for these reasons:

For Loving my son and caring to come and
congratulate him, ( we will do this again in 2 yrs for my daughter' high school Graduation and / 4 years for his college graduation!)

For my daughter for decorating the house as only she could do!
( what a creative mind!)

I was blessed that my eldest niece came with her husband who
just recently finished Chemotherapy and we know what a champ he is!

For my sister J taking the train into town and being able to
attend the graduation with me ( she was there the day he was born)
so it only seemed appropriate that she share in watching this event occur

For my nephew who brought his son and wife early so that I could have
quality time with them and for spending his birthday with us
and for his son letting me hold him!

For my mother/father in law for driving such a long way to
join us in the celebration ( they have to travel next weekend to
see one of the other grandson's graduate as well!

For my sister H bringing her beautiful grand daughter

For my sisters E & M bringing fruit for us to enjoy

For my cousins and their families and one of my uncles joining us

For some of Kiel's good friends stopping by

For some wonderful Mexican food that I had catered
and we all seemed to enjoy.

That I am so very blessed for the family and Friends we have.

for all these things made a great celebration that Kiel and I will treasure
always!
