wii fit

In April we bought my son the Wii Game system
so he could play updated video games and to take with him to college
so that he could have something to help him de-stress, my son has decided he is not going to take this with him to college he is going to leave it here at home,
so the next thing I know is my husband came home with the newest game
it is the exercise game called wii fit. it is totally AWESOME!! I am so hooked on it. you can do
so many things with it and literally it is playing a video game. but man it kicks your butt!
it monitors your weight, your BMI , you can do yoga, strength training, aerobics, balance games,
and much more. I never thought since my youth that I could become so hooked on a video type game( yes, i admit it centipede was my game and of course pac-man!)

I have been doing this for about 12 days now and am so enjoying it, of course when the triple digit heat cools down in my neck of the woods I will get back to walking, bike riding.

but for know I will stay fit with wii fit!

music saves

Last Summer my son took this photo
while he was on vacation with his Aunt
and well today I have had it on my mind Music does Save, I have been blessed that my son is very talented in teaching himself how to play many instruments. he has several of them
but I am grateful that both of my children appreciate music from all walks of life.

music is many things it is the sweet
sounds we hear that when put together with words become a popular song. It is also medicine for some people, and it can give one such a soothing feeling. it can bring you joy, make you weep, dance, and just transform and paralyze you with it's glorious harmonies. and more importantly it is good for your soul!!

I find it such a shame that music is becoming another obsolete subject in schools due to budget cuts and they wonder why the youth of today is always getting into trouble?! well ok there are many social reasons that some youth take a wrong turn, I have been so fortunate that my kids
stayed on the right path.

I believe the saying in this photo

MUSIC SAVES!!!!

Angles Calling A.K.A. Voices in my Head

For the last few weeks I have been feeling the presence and hearing the voice of my angel brother EVERYWHERE!,( in my sleep, in the day time, literally, it is an eerie yet soothing feeling. I don't know what he is telling me exactly all I know is that I am hearing his strong
sweet whispers which is funny because my brother was not one for whispering!( at least I don't think so!!) anyway I have been trying to make sense of it.
This is not the first time this sort of thing has happened to me, I hear the family angel voices of my mother, father, and my eldest brother from time to time. in the past I have been able to understand and make sense of whatever I was hearing, but lately this is quite unclear I know when he wants and needs me to understand the message I will hear it clearly. so until then I guess
I will be listening profoundly to the voices in my head and ears!!!

Family Tree

This photo is part of my husbands
ancestry. They are my husbands "Granny's" great grandparents and
as you can see this photo was painted and is quite an antique!

when ever I see this photo and others
like it when we visit Granny, I wonder
what they're lives were like? what they went through? and what they would be like had we gotten to know them. Family history has always been interesting to me, and to my son perhaps that is why he is going to major in the study of anthropology.

I know a little bit about our granny's
family history. so I thought i would share. Granny's family hails from Colgate Oklahoma, as did Daddo's ( my husbands grandfather) and Daddo's family ran the cemetery and there is a whole lot of family buried there because of the small pox epidemic. Granny's family ran a ranch. as a young girl granny would go squirrel hunting and fishing for dinner with her father. when she grew up and later married Daddo they would all go hunting and fishing. Granny tells us many interesting facts of her life growing up. ( in a future blog I hope to share!)

so my new project for myself is to put copies of these wonderful photos we have in a scrap book
I will let you know how it turns out.
